Terms

Short, because most of what a long one would cover does not happen here. Playing costs nothing and asks for nothing. Buying a surface involves money, and that part is written out properly.

Playing

Playing is free, hosting a field is free, and neither asks for an account. Nothing here is sold to a player and nothing a player does can be paid for.

This is a game that runs between players' browsers. It can drop a connection, lose a match or go down for a while, and there is no promise that it will not. It is provided as it is.

Buying a surface

Everything about the price and the auction is on the advertising page. These are the terms that sit under it.

  1. What you buy is a position, for 30 days. The term starts when you take the surface. You are not buying a number of views, and nothing here promises one. What the market does promise is that the surface is painted where it says it is, for the whole term, and is not shown to anybody as something you did not write.
  2. A higher bid takes the position from you at any time. That is the whole market and it is not a fault. What you paid is held against that surface for the rest of its term, so taking it back costs the difference rather than the price again.
  3. Credit is credit, not a balance. It buys surfaces in this world. It is not money, it is not transferable, and it is not paid out.
  4. 30% of what is paid for a surface on a field is credited to whoever hosts that field, automatically, as credit on the same terms. Surfaces that belong to the world rather than to a field pay no share.
  5. A field can close. A field with a sponsored surface on it is not swept for being idle. If a field goes for another reason, write to us and we will put the remainder of your term somewhere comparable or return it as credit.

What gets a creative taken down

A surface points at a public web address and nothing else. Beyond that, a creative is removed and the position released if it pretends to be somebody it is not, misleads about what is behind the link, or carries something a general audience should not meet. Nobody playing here chose to see advertising, which is where that line comes from.

A creative removed for one of those reasons is not refunded. A creative removed by us for any other reason is.

Refunds

Write to us within the first 30 days if the surface you bought was not delivered as described and we will refund it. Being outbid is not that, and neither is a surface performing worse than you hoped: the market sells a position, not an audience.

What stays yours

A creative you upload stays yours. By putting it on a surface you allow us to show it in this world, and to show it on the sponsors board and in anything that pictures the world, for as long as you hold the surface. We do not sell it, license it on, or use it for anything else.

Everything else here — the game, the world, the name and the writing — is ours.

Changes and endings

These terms change when the product does, and the date at the foot says when they last did. A change that affects a term you have already paid for does not apply to that term.

We can suspend an account or a field that breaks the rules above. You can stop using this at any time, and signing out is the whole of it.
